5 Years on Since the Death of a True Champ

Today, February the 27th marks 5 years since the death of Muaythai legend Ramon Dekkers.

A multiple time Muaythai champion, Dekkers was the most respected foreign Muaythai fighter in Thailand. He was the first non-Thai to be crowned Muaythai boxer of the year in Thailand, and has also received the highest Thai honours.

Ramon Dekkers, Dutch Muaythai legend from Breda, passed away due to a heart attack on February 27, 2013 after feeling unwell and sustaining a bicycle crash while training.

The WMC pays respect on this special day to a true legend.
