WMC Super show in Perth Australia

Perth was the venue for a WMC international showdown with some of the worlds best squaring up. The arena was packed to bursting point and the audience witnessed a night of world-class fights and drama.

Kim Olsen squared up against Liam Dougherty from England in the first international bout and this was the perfect opener for the international fight card. Both fighters showed their class and the Australian won a points decision.

Chris White, the IFMA Champion and Australian WMC Champion, versus Michael Kiat Busaba Lana Gym was a real crowd pleaser. Both boys showed why they are within the worlds best as for 5 rounds they went toe to toe. Chris White, with the help of the sold out venue, took home a points decision and again proved that he is a serious title contender.

The main fight was WMC World Champion Eugene Ekkelboom versus WMC S1 Kings Cup winner Mastui from the WMC Camp in Koh Samui, Thailand. This was the fight of the night. In round one out of nowhere Matsui placed a perfect right and took Ekkelboom down for the first eight count of his career.  Ekkelboom got back on his feet and until end of round two it was survival of the toughest as Matsui went hunting for a decision.

In round three Ekkelboom recovered and being behind on points he knew he must put down Matsui at least once, but Matsui fought a smart game. Ekkelboom showed his world class skills in round 4 and 5 but was trailing on points and lost a point decision to the upset of the enthusiastic crowd. But Ekkelboom himself gracious in defeat thanked Matsui for this great fight and the rematched is planed for July and this with no doubt will be one of the biggest fights Perth will see this year.
