Helsinki has just witnessed another event organised by the Finnish Muaythai Association under the umbrella of the WMC and IFMA. The main fight was the European WMC Title fight between Canan Yorulmaz of Holland and Finnish fighter Mappela Lehtonen, the former IFMA World and Europeran champion..
It was a fantastic display of female Muaythai in a sold out venue, with Mappela taking the win by unanimous points decision, much to the delight of the crowd. Mappela, who is a famous TV presenter in Finland, has had a strong media following leading up to the fight, and fights like these are certainly a great promotion for female Muaythai around the world.

The undercard was the Finnish Female Amateur Championship, which was the qualifier for the upcoming IFMA World Championship, to be held in Thailand at the end of the year. 100 countries are expected to participate in this event of events, held in honour of HM the King of Thailand. Once again the world can expect a strong Finland team for this fantatsic event
