16 Muaythai fighters from a kaleidescope of backgrounds and cultures, all come together for The Contender Asia series for the chance to win $150,000 USD and to become the first ever Contender Muaythai Champion.

Shot in Singapore, The Contender Asia is the first ever reality television series to be made about the sport of Muaythai. Brought to you by Mark Burnett Productions, the makers of hit reality shows such as The Apprentice and Survivor, The Contender Muaythai will tell the stories of these 16 fighters. The show is set to air in January 2008 and will run for 15 weeks bringing us up to the Finals which will take place in Las Vegas in March 2008.

The Contender Muaythai is fully sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council, and will most definately bring the level of the sport to heights never before reached. It will take our sport into  23 Asian countries, 74 million households and 200 million viewers through broascast on AXN. It will also reach a global audience via channels such as ESPN2 and Fox Sports.

Muaythai's popularity will most definately sky rocket as the show allows the viewer to share the journey that these 16 remarkable fighters undertake. It will not only show case Muaythai, but will also show the audience that the men who are the practitioners of this martial art form are not only skillful, agile and powerful, but are also men of character, poise, and have nothing but the utmost respect for one another.

This is reflected best in Stephan Fox's (Vice President WMC & Contender Mentor/Host) mantra of muaythai which is....

"Respect All, Fear None"
