WMC Super Promoter Songchai’s Anniversary Event

Rajadamnoen Stadium was packed to bursting point for the gala event in honour of Songchai Ratanasuban’s 31st anniversary as a promoter of Muaythai. HE General Pichitr Kullavanijaya, Privy Councilor to HM the King and Honorary President of IMFA and the WMC presided over the event in front of an enthusiastic crowd, which was one of the biggest shows the stadium has seen for along time.

In the opening fight, Petch-tawee defeated Singthongnoi in a tough battle, which set the tone for the evening. The crowd were kept entertained throughout the second fight as Bovi outclassed Sanchainoi in a great display of Muaythai skills.

Next up was Zeta Muangsrima taking on Pandeen. This was a great fight but Pandeen was too strong for Zeta and took the fight, while in fight number four, the action was explosive, Haansuek the aggressor scoring a knock out in round three against Krangkrai.

The audience was looking forward to the clash between NongBee and Orono, and were not disappointed. NongBee fought hard and did enough to take the win. Fight six was another crowd pleaser, as Chatchainoi went to work to secure a win over Pornmongkol.

The main fight of the night, and the one the crowd had been waiting for was the WMC World Title fight, and what a fight it was, as Thongchai Tor.Silachai, the current WMC Champion, was challenged by Redteejak Kaewsamreed. This was no doubt one of the most exciting fights of the evening being for the belt of all belts, and to the thrill of the crowd a change of the belt took place – Redteejak winning the fight, making him the new WMC World Champion.

After the excitement of the WMC World Title fight, the audience stayed on to watch Petchtaksin take on Pooja in fight eight – another great fight, Petchtaksin emerging as the winner.

Overall it was a great night, with great fights, and a great tribute to Songchai Ratanasuban’s 31 years of Muaythai promotion.
