Dear Friends,

As you are all aware, General Vorayudh Mesommonta, our President has been fighting his own battle with cancer. He has given his best to remain as long as possible as President of IFMA and FAMA. For we should greatly respect him.

But on doctor’s advice, he needs rest now in order to give him a chance for recovery. We have discussed the changeover in the Presidency in great depth with the Executive Board and have chosen a suitable successor to General Vorayudh.

Dr Sakchye Tapsuwan is one of the most respected personalities in the Thai sporting scene.

He has held such positions as former Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, Vice-President of the Amateur Boxing Association (ABA) and Chairman of the Technical Committee for the 3rd Asian Games.

He has accepted this position and will stand in as President of IFMA and FAMA. All Vice- Presidents of the World Committee and the Asian committee have approved this appointment as per the Constitution. The whole Board is delighted to have this outstanding personality leading us. Now we will all work together to continue the work of IFMA - onwards from the late Mr. Bunyuen and the inspiring leadership of General Vorayudh Mesommonta, Dr
Tapsuwan has promised to tackle the next 2 realistic sporting events MuayThai included in the SEA games and Asian games.

Both events are major events in Asia and amateur MuayThai hasalready, under IFMA and FAMA, has been accepted onto the panel of sports. Dr Tapsuwan, with all our help, will try for full acceptance.
